Jennifer Tilly's birth took place at Los Angeles, California on September 16, 1958. The birth circumstances were miserable. Her mother, a failed actor and schoolteacher, sold automobiles, while her father worked as an auto salesman. Jennifer is the third of her family's four children, frequently attended her mother to her theater performances and was very impressed with her. Jennifer's parents split at the age of five. Jennifer spent the bulk of her youth within British Columbia, after her mother moved there with her four kids. Jennifer did not attend school although as a kid she was very artistic. As a child Jennifer often became targeted by bullies in schools across Canada. She began to lose interest in theater throughout the time she was in high school. Her mother urged her to play different roles in plays. She was inspired by her mom to inspire all the youngsters in her household to develop a passion for and interest in the art. Then she began to act.
